 Creative, Excellent for Night Frisbee-ing July 23, 2010

The light up frisbee is a creative product and a lot of fun to play with at night. I had a blast playing some Ultimate Frisbee at night with this thing (players wear glow in the dark wristbands to differentiate teams). Great for any group activity that may take place in the dark. This is much better than frisbees made of 'glow in the dark' material in that you can see the light-up frisbee at night fairly well.
The frisbee is not regulation 'Ultimate Frisbee' size and the light 'switch' at the bottom is finicky and does turn itself off from time to time. The switch is a round knob under the disc that you twist and a slight knock can sometimes throw it into the off position. This can get annoying at times.
Frisbee is copyrighted, so when I say 'frisbee,' I mean "flying disc."

I purchased this disc for my 18 yr. old son. His friends play ultimate frisbee after youth group, but would often have to quit because of darkness. Not only does this disc work after dark for the game, it looks very cool doing it!

This review is for the BLUE disc.
PROS:
-Shines with perfect brightness at night. The battery is at the center, and there are fiber-optic strings protruding to the edges.
-Throws incredibly well. Seriously, this disc almost always moves in a straight path, even if you're terrible at throwing a normal Ultimate disc. Forehand and backhand throws are very smooth.
-Even after being thrown into a hard surface like a street or tree, the disc lights up just fine every time.
CONS:
-Becomes a little flimsy after heavy use. The plastic it's made from is not as hard as a normal Ultimate disc. However, the disc throws just as well as it did the first time I tried it.
-The edges become worn from grinding/hitting the street. Fully expected with anything plastic. Try to use in a grassy or sandy area.
I threw this disc at the beach a few times, and it has landed in the water with no affect on the light. So, it can take a little bit of water, but always tried to avoid water if you can. This disc is water resistant, NOT water proof.
Keep in mind that this disc is 10 grams more massive than a normal 175g Ultimate disc. If anything, that's a good thing, but this disc is technically not an official Ultimate disc.

I purchased this disc for the purpose of play out near our night time campfires... The large model is reminisent of the World Class Frisbee's that many of us grew up throwing, but a little heavier from the installed LED's... With that said, this disc is very bright at night, and will not disapoint... Flies Good / Feels Good / Looks Great

Well-built and designed. We have only gotten to play with it twice so far, but it flies super well (and far with a good arm) and it really lights up!!!
It's slightly lighter and more flexible than I would prefer, but I'm a little picky when it comes to frisbees. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! We got the GREEN one. It looks like a green UFO. (i would always want my ufo's to be green if I ever see a real one :)
