Amazon.com Product Description Combining stylish looks with heart rate monitoring features, this larger Timex Personal Heart Rate Monitor watch (model T5G971) can be worn by both men and women. It features a chest strap heart rate monitor, easily accessible function buttons, durable resin case, and comfortable resin strap with a stylish tapered profile. For integrating heart rate monitoring into your training, this watch enables you to continuously track your heart rate during exercise as well as pre-set target heart rate zones with alarms that notify you when you are out of the zone. It also offers an automatic activity timer and a workout review that recalls activity time and average/peak heart rates. This streamlined watch also has a month/day/date display with 12/24-hour time. The Indiglo night-light uniformly lights the surface of the watch dial using patented blue electroluminescent lighting technology. It uses less battery power than most other watch illumination systems, enabling your watch battery to last longer. The watch is water resistant to 30 meters (100 feet), which protects it from rain and water splashes. All Timex heart rate monitor sensors have batteries that can be replaced by consumers without requiring them to be returned to the manufacturer.

Easy to use July 18, 2010 Melanie Baird It works as stated. I bought this watch because of the reviews and functionality of the watch. I wanted to keep track of calories during the day. Set up was easy, just read the instructions fully and it is simple. You can enter your weight, maximum heart rate, etc, for the calorie tracker. It is handy to keep you in the zone that you want to be working out in. I never knew I was actually working out too hard to get the results I wanted. So it has made my workouts much more efficient.
The chest strap is actually comfortable, not bulky, and connects to my watch in just a second or two. I haven't had any problems with the connection, like others have had, but I am assuming that is because I don't have really tight abs yet.
I am not sure about the calorie tracker yet, it seems to state I burn a lot of calories, so not sure how accurate it is. I have been adding the heart rate, etc, into an online system of figuring calories and they seem to be right on with each other. I am just finding it hard to believe that I burn that many calories in a day. Maybe I do? Who knows.
Anyhow, It was a steal of a price, I got it on sale for $38. Sweeet deal.
heart rate monitor wrist watch July 14, 2010 Donald C. Dapper 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
i ordered this to monitor my heart rate and did not know you had to strap a sensor around your chest. tried using it but readings were so erratic i returned it for a refund. I was actually looking for a replacement type i had in the past that monitored your pulse on the wrist and also kept time.
Excellent, basic, heart rate monitor July 13, 2010 Maverick (Southern California) I have used my heart rate monitor six times running on the track in the last two weeks. It's really easy to use, adjustable strap sensor and wrist watch. So far, no complaint whatsoever. Would buy one again. Highly recommending this product. No bells or whistles, but it gets the job done and it is reliable. Thank you, Amazon, for carrying this product and the fast shipping.
works like a charm July 6, 2010 wethepeople02 I have had the Timex for a month and use it almost every day. It is easy to use and seems to work perfectly. While I am still learning how to incorporate all of the features into my daily routine, I am very pleased with this product's performance.
Works good July 3, 2010 Brody It does exactly as it says it does, it just works. I like it. I like the alarm that tells you when your either too high or too low while running, it makes running much more interesting. Not too complicated either, about all you would need.
